2025 QB Tramell Jones Jr. Decommits from FSU

Tribe 25 took another hit on Thursday morning with the announcement that four-star quarterback Tramell Jones Jr. backed off his commitment from FSU. Although the Jacksonville, Florida native had been committed to the Seminoles since April of 2023, it came as no surprise following a recent rumor of a potential flip to in-state rival Florida. With FSU struggling in 2024, and UF electing to retain Billy Napier, all signs are pointing to Jones Jr. landing in Gainesville. The Noles 2025 class now has 12 commits remaining and ranks 42nd in the 247 Composite Rankings with early signing day less than a month away.

As for FSU moving forward, they no longer have a quarterback commit for the 2025 class. However, On3’s Steve Wiltfong recently reported that FSU is picking up momentum with 2025 four-star quarterback Carter Smith from Ft. Myers, Florida. There is also a strong belief that FSU will be looking to add an experienced transfer at the position this offseason. FSU still has a highly touted 2026 quarterback commit Brady Smeigiel in the fold for now. Thanks for reading and Go Noles!
