The spring transfer portal window is set to open next week as teams look to make their final roster moves before the 2025 season. Teams will inevitably both gain and lose players during this period. Former four-star walk-on QB Trever Jackson appears to be the first to exit the Seminoles roster. According to a social media report, Jackson informed On3 that he intends to enter the transfer portal.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pound passer was a surprise addition when he joined the program as a walk-on. Jackson was a blue-chip recruit and Elite 11 finalist. Unfortunately, his time in Tallahassee did not amount to much. We never heard much about him, and he only played one snap against Charleston Southern last season.
Although I thought Jackson could have been a good fit for the Malzahn offense, FSU already has Tommy Castellanos, Brock Glenn, and freshman Kevin Sperry has made a splash during spring camp. There is only so much room on the roster and limited opportunities for playing time. We wish Jackson nothing but the best going forward. Thanks for reading, and Go Noles!
