Florida State continued its hot streak on Sunday landing a third commitment as Tennessee transfer wide receiver Squirrel White chose the Seminoles. The 5-foot-10, 167-pound veteran gives FSU a proven weapon in the slot receiver position. White has hauled in 130 receptions for 1,659 yards, and 6 touchdowns over 3 seasons at Tennessee despite missing time with injury. He had a breakout season in 2023 racking up 67 receptions for 803 yards.
White brings 25 starts and over 1,350 snaps of experience from the SEC to a receiver room that lost most of its experience from last season. He has accounted for five 100+ yard games throughout his career. He did have some drop issues in 2023, but has a solid career reception percentage of 68.4%.
White loved his visit to Tallahassee and stated that it feels like home. He also emphasized that he liked the way FSU planned to use him in Gus Malzahn’s offense adding that his dynamic ability would equal a lot of touches. He has one year remaining.
Squirrel White joins Duce Robinson as FSU’s second receiver transfer this offseason. With the three commitments today, FSU’s transfer class now ranks top 5 and first in the ACC according to the 247 Transfer Portal rankings. Thanks and Go Noles!
