Florida State added another piece to its growing defensive line haul as they look to rebuild the trenches for next season. Tennessee transfer Jayson Jenkins made his commitment to the Seminoles official early Sunday morning.
The 6-foot-6, 281-pound rs-Jr. appeared in all 13 games for the Vols last season as a rotational player and tallied 9 tackles, 3.5 TFL, and 2 sacks, earning him a solid 75.5 PFF grade. Jenkins could also be a factor in the run game after earning above average run defense grades in 11 of the 13 games. The Lawrenceville, NJ native was a 3 star recruit out of high school and redshirted in 2022 before playing in 6 games in 2023.
He possesses a stout frame with good athleticism that gives him a high upside after a little polishing. Jenkins has experience in 3- and 4-man fronts, which is a plus coming into Tony White’s defense. He becomes FSU’s fourth defensive line transfer as the Seminoles climb to 6th (1st in the ACC) in the 247 Transfer Rankings. Thanks for reading and Go Noles!!
