The Florida State Seminoles continue their streak in recruiting, securing a commitment from three-star offensive lineman Jakobe Green for the 2026 class. Green’s pledge marks another significant addition to what is becoming a significant class for head coach Mike Norvell and his staff.
Green, a formidable 6-foot-3, 335-pound prospect, announced his decision on Tuesday, June 24, just a day after decommitting from Mississippi State. Originally committed to the Bulldogs in February, Green had maintained an interest in Florida State, making multiple unofficial visits to Tallahassee over the past two years.
The Seminoles officially extended an offer in late May, a move that quickly gained traction and led to an official visit on May 30th. Despite a subsequent official visit to Starkville, the allure of playing for the Seminoles, a team that he says he grew a fan of, proved too strong for Green, who ultimately flipped his commitment to FSU.
“It means everything,” Green said of committing to FSU. “I’ve been a ‘Nole all my life. Being from Gadsden County and getting the opportunity to play at the next level for the home team and compete for a championship is definitely a dream come true.
“I understood early in my recruitment that it’s a process and being patient is part of it,” Green added. “I also understood that last season was one of the worst in school history and the coaches had to put some pieces together to be able to come this upcoming season as well. So I’m not phased by being offered late as some may say. The offer was right on time to me. It was God’s timing, not mine,” Green told reporters in a post-commitment interview.
Ranked as the No. 50 interior offensive lineman nationally and the No. 82 prospect in Florida for the 2026 class by 247 Sports, Green brings both size and versatility to the Seminoles’ offensive front. He is projected to play along the interior offensive line, where his strength and physical presence will be a valuable asset.
During his junior season at Niceville High School, Green played primarily at right guard and also saw snaps on defense, showcasing his versatility. He is set to play his senior season at Gadsden County High School.
Green’s commitment is the latest in a flurry of positive recruiting news for Florida State, which has seen its 2026 class climb into the top 10 nationally. He joins fellow offensive linemen Michael Ionata and Luke Francis in the 2026 class, adding depth, size, and talent to the trenches for coach Herb Hand. Thanks for reading and Go Noles!
