FSU lands experienced DL transfer Grady Kelly from CSU

FSU has a lot to replace on the defensive line for next season and they will get some help from Colorado State transfer Grady Kelly. The Navarre Florida native will return to the sunshine state with multiple years of eligibility remaining after committing to the Noles on Sunday afternoon.

The 6-foot-2, 285-pound rs-Sophmore started 22 games for CSU over the past two seasons. In 2023, Kelly recorded 35 total tackles, 6.5 TLFs and 1.5 sacks. He faced three Power 5 opponents during his time at CSU (Washington State x2 and Michigan). Kelly graded out well in all three games per PFF.

Although he’s not the biggest for a defensive tackle, his size is very comparable to Malcolm Ray, who recently transferred to Rutgers. The Noles struck gold with their last G5 defensive tackle, Braden Fiske. Can Odell and FSU catch lightning in a bottle once again? Only time will tell, but after a few months with Coach Storms and Odell he should be ready to make an impact. Thanks for reading and Go Noles!
