FSU opens as a road dog against ACC newcomer SMU

Florida State (1-3) got its first win of the season after beating Cal 14-9 on Saturday night. The Noles will now turn their focus to the SMU Mustangs (3-1), who are coming off a 66-42 win over TCU. This will be FSU’s first true road game of the season, and also the first time FSU has been the underdog. SMU opens as a 5.5-point favorite over FSU with an Over/Under of 47.5, according to FanDuel. The Mustangs are 2-1 at home with wins over FCS Houston Christian and TCU, and a loss to BYU. Florida State’s only game away from Tallahassee was the 24-21 week zero loss to Georgia Tech in Ireland.

Florida State is currently 1-3 vs. the spread and 1-3 vs. the Moneyline. SMU is 2-2 vs. the spread and 3-1 vs. the Moneyline. The ESPN matchup predictor gives the Mustangs a whopping 71.4%-win probability. Like Cal last week, this will be SMU’s first game as a member of the ACC and the first-ever meeting between the two schools. FSU will be looking to play spoiler for another conference newcomer. The two teams face off on Saturday at 8 pm ET on ACC Network. Thanks for reading and Go Noles!
