FSU vs Duke will take place under the lights in Doak

On Monday, Florida State announced their sold-out game against the Duke Blue Devils (4-1) will take place under the lights at Doak Campbell Stadium. This will be Florida State’s second night game at home, with the first being their 66-17 win over Southern Miss in week two.

Doak at night, especially when sold out is one of the best environments in college football. It will certainly be an advantage for the Seminoles against a Duke team that has found themselves on everyone’s radar since upsetting Clemson 28-7 in week one. Currently sitting at 17th, Duke would be the first ranked opponent to travel into Doak this season, pending they beat NC State in Durham on Saturday.

Duke had a much-needed bye this past Saturday after suffering a tough 21-14 loss at home to Notre Dame that also saw starting quarterback Riley Leonard go down with an injury. Riley’s timeline was initially expected to be a few weeks, so we’ll have to wait and see if he is even available, or anywhere close to 100%, for the FSU game. That would be a huge loss, as Leonard is one of the better quarterbacks in the country and the heart of the Duke offense.

Florida State is currently 21-0 all-time vs the Blue Devils (19-0 if you remove 2 vacated wins). The last meeting was a rescheduled game during the COVID season that FSU won 56-35. This game will be Homecoming for FSU, and fans have been encouraged to wear the new Seminole Heritage Collection gear to the game.

The game will either be at 7:30 PM ET on ABC or 8:00 PM ET on ACCN. The final details will be announced after this week’s games take place. Thanks for reading, and Go Noles!
