The kickoff time for the highly anticipated and long-awaited season-opening showdown between Florida State and Alabama has been announced. According to Brett McMurphy of The Action Network, the Seminoles and Crimson Tide will be a 3:30 pm kickoff and televised nationally on ABC network.
The game is part of a big opening weekend for the 2025 season featuring multiple marquee matchups between ACC and SEC teams. Syracuse and Tennessee will start the day at noon, followed by FSU-Bama at 3:30 and LSU-Clemson getting the primetime slot at 7:30 p.m. With Texas vs. Ohio State airing on Fox, ESPN College Gameday could be on site as FSU’s own Lee Corso makes his final appearance on the show. It would be a fitting place to end his storied career.
Personally, it’s a bit of a disappointment that this huge game will not be under the lights in the newly renovated Doak Campbell Stadium. However, the atmosphere will certainly be electric in Tallahassee. Doak will be back to full (but reduced) capacity of around 70 thousand. Both programs have something to prove and will be entering the game with a chip on their shoulder after a season that was not up to the standard last year.
Alabama is currently an 11.5-point favorite over FSU according to FanDuel, but anything can happen on any given Saturday. The Crimson Tide was a mere 2-4 outside of Bryant Denny Stadium last year and will be breaking in a new and inexperienced quarterback. It will be a scorching hot day for a high-stakes, high-energy game that we can’t wait for! Thanks for reading and Go Noles!
