FSU announces fifth sellout ahead of 2024 season

The excitement continues to build as football season approaches and fans prepare to pack into Doak Campbell Stadium to watch their Seminoles play. FSU athletics announced this week that the September 14th contest against Mike Norvell’s former program Memphis has now officially sold out. This marks the fifth of seven home games to sell out with over a month remaining before the first game in Tallahassee.

This leaves the Monday night game against Boston College and the late November matchup against Charleston Southern as the only games with tickets remaining. Of course, we must keep in mind that Doak will be operating at a reduced capacity of around 50k this year due to the renovations. But with FSU football back to competing at a high level, this is becoming the norm no matter the capacity.

Looking back at last season, FSU sold out 5 of its 6 home games as well as the neutral site game vs. LSU in Orlando which was primarily Seminole fans. The only home game that didn’t sell out last season was the home opener vs. Southern Miss. It’s a nice trend after FSU went a few years without a sell-out as the team struggled to put a product worth watching on the field. The Seminoles have cashed in on the home-field advantage with an 11-2 record inside Doak over the past two seasons.

Even at reduced capacity, if Doak holds anywhere north of 50k, a sellout would still put that as one of the Top 5 highest attendances in the ACC according to 2023 data from D1 ticker. FSU’s home slate features games against Boston College, Memphis, Cal, Clemson, UNC, Charleston Southern, and Florida. The October 5th game against Clemson is the big one this year, but FSU will be looking to complete another undefeated season at home as they did in 2023 and they’ll have a packed Doak Campbell Stadium on their side!
