Drafted: Josh Farmer Selected by the New England Patriots

As the NFL Draft unfolded on Saturday, Florida State defensive tackle Joshua Farmer became the second Seminole to hear his name called. With the 137th overall pick in the fourth round, the six-time Super Bowl champion New England Patriots selected the former Nole. Farmer is true homegrown Seminole committing to FSU out of high school and spending four seasons in Garnet and Gold.

Farmer appeared in all thirteen games as a redshirt freshman in 2022. He earned a starting role in 2023 making 13 starts and racking up 32 tackles, 7 TFLs, and 5 sacks. Last season, Farmer was a steady presence up front for FSU. He started all 12 games, recording 32 tackles, 8 TFLs, and 4 sacks while earning an All-ACC honorable mention.

Josh Farmer was Mike Norvell’s first high school commit at FSU in January 2020. Farmer also provides one more feather in the cap of legendary defensive line coach Odell Haggins, who created a pipeline to the NFL throughout his career. Originally projected as a third-round pick, Farmer ended up sliding to the fourth round but will end up in a good situation in New England with new head coach Mike Vrabel. We send our congratulations to Josh Farmer and wish him the best throughout his career! Thanks for reading and Go Noles!
