FSU Edge DD Holmes Enters Transfer Portal

Florida State freshman edge defensive lineman DD Holmes has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, as reported by multiple sources on Sunday.

Standing 6-foot-6 and weighing 255 pounds, Holmes hails from Washington, D.C., and joined FSU from Gonzaga College High School before the 2024 season. He is the second member of his recruiting class to leave FSU through the Transfer Portal, following quarterback Luke Kromenhoek.

Holmes saw action in one game during the 2024 season, where he contributed an assisted tackle and registered two quarterback hurries.

A four-star recruit per the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Holmes committed to FSU on July 1, 2023. He was ranked as the No. 329 overall prospect, No. 42 defensive lineman, and the No. 2 recruit from Washington, D.C., in his class. Holmes chose FSU over offers from Maryland, South Carolina, Rutgers, and numerous other programs.
