The Seminoles are tasked with rebuilding their offensive line after all 5 starters are out of eligibility. On Tuesday, FSU received its first offensive line commit from the portal as Purdue transfer Bradyn Joiner signed with the Seminoles. The 6-foot-2, 310-pound interior offensive lineman started all 12 games for the Boilermakers at center last season.
He posted a 63.2 PFF grade (63.2 pass blocking and 61.7 run blocking). Although he only allowed one sack all season, he gave up 26 pressures, which is a lot for a center who gets help on almost every play. The 26 pressures allowed were actually the most by any center in the Power 4, which is concerning. Hopefully, that is something Herb Hand can work on, but having a mobile quarterback should help mitigate that.
Joiner began his career at Auburn, where he redshirted his first year and then appeared in 10 games with 5 starts in 2024. Joiner brings experience with over 1,250 snaps at the Power 4 level. He is also versatile on the interior as he has played 794 snaps at center and 470 at guard. The truth is, with so many spots to fill, FSU needs to throw bodies at rebuilding the offensive line, and not only can Joiner be a piece to build around, but he also has two years of eligibility remaining if he decides to stick around after next season. Thanks for reading, and Go Noles!
