FSU Baseball Lands Multiple Preseason Top 10 Rankings

We are just under one month away from the return of Florida State Baseball as the Seminoles look to make another run in 2025. Excitement is at an all-time high after the program saw a massive turnaround in head coach Link Jarrett’s second season at the helm. The Seminoles went from dead last in the ACC in 2024 to finishing their 2024 season on a deep run in Omaha, and if not for a bogus check swing call against eventual national champion Tennessee, who knows what could have happened.

During the 2024 season, FSU started hot, jumping out to a 19-0 record before their first loss came against a top 5 Clemson squad on the road. The Noles also swept their in-state rivals and put Howser back on the map with a 32-4 record at home.

Although FSU lost some of its household names from last season in guys like James Tibbs III, Cam Smith, Marco Dinges, and Jaime Ferrer, they have a loaded lineup for the upcoming season. Perhaps the most exciting name in garnet and gold is left-handed ace Jamie Arnold, who is already racking up preseason honors. There is also Cam Leiter who is expected to return from injury to help form one of the top pitching staffs in the country.

Coming off a top 4 finish with a loaded pitching staff, talented roster, and adding some impact transfers, the Seminoles have found themselves in multiple preseason Top 10 rankings upping the expectations for the upcoming season. Florida State landed at number 6 in Perfect Game’s preseason top 25 and number 9 according to D1 Baseball.

Can the Noles repeat their success from last season? We’ll find out when things get underway on opening day, February 14th, when the Noles face off against James Madison in Tallahassee. FSU has notable series against rivals Miami and UF and must also navigate the difficult ACC gauntlet of Wake Forest, Clemson, and UNC. Stay tuned to Plant The Spear as we’ll be rolling out our 2025 FSU Baseball Preview shortly! Thanks for reading and Go Noles!
